Please take grain of salt. It did not involve any direct inappropriate contact or anything salacious the coach did directly. There seems to have been an incident on a road trip in which there was an issue with the bus driver on said trip. The driver is not an NU employee but rather contracted through a company in Niagara Falls. It seems as if the follow up to this incident was not handles by the coach in a manner consistent with the Athletic Departments regulations. A situation that is unfortunate but likely the right decision was made by the Admin and stakeholders. Kudos to the school for protecting student athletes. [ Post a Reply to This Message ]

It is the coach's responsibility to put the safety of his team and anyone else as his first priority. If he or she fails to do that, not only is the bus driver guilty but so is the coach who let the incident slide. The stakeholders trust that the university does what's best without having to get their approval, and 26 years has nothing to do with anything. Just like with Tom Crowley, Pat Beilein, and even JAM, information may leak out but it's not going to come from inside the AD's office. I know what happened from each one of those incidents, but none of it came from Simon Gray. People want facts because they are naturally nosey and feel entitled but after 71 years on this earth, I find that the best thing is done and these situations are handles fairly well to protect both the school and the individual involved.
