Just like where you folks work, or worked, personnel matters are confidential and you may find out from a leak but don't expect it in the newspapers. You guys kill me.

I found several articles on the "leadership change". very disappointing they deleted his bio off the web site instead of hiding it.

But what do I expect from administration that mentions being asst coach in now-defunct empire state games and being a former high school athlete. What are we doing here?

I have NO NOTION of what happened but I am going to paint a picture based on what somebody said in an earlier post and again I have NO IDEA whether alcohol was part of this story or not......however having said that, if a coach has knowledge of a bus driver either using alcohol or being under the influence in performing his job transporting NU students either to or from an activity and doesn't report it, he or she puts those students, himself and anyone else on that bus in danger of injury or worse. It is the coach's responsibility to put the safety of his team and anyone else as his first priority.

If he or she fails to do that, not only is the bus driver guilty but so is the coach who let the incident slide. Removing the coach for such negligence and irresponsibility would seem automatic in my opinion.

You know, only based the fact that you first reported it and then gave your opinion not knowing shit as far as the facts go, I'm going to go out on a limb and opine that NU in this case might be anything BUT rinky dink in this particular instance.

Not picking you out of a lineup, but seriously they aren't as rinky dink as you have stated in more than this matter. How would like to be the AD and somebody says to you: "Hey what about that bus driver the other day"?

What bus driver?

Fair points
But not putting the news a 26 year tenured coach was fired on your website would not be the recommended way to handle it.

It actually makes it look worse.

I would assume that almost no consulting firm would recommend such a thing.

Own it. Tell your stake holders what happened (so much as you can) what happened etc.

That’s all.

This stuff happens every day in college sports. The SOP is not burying the lede. That’s all.

Enjoy your holiday !

They don't have to tell the stakeholders a thing. The stakeholders trust that the university does what's best without having to get their approval, and 26 years has nothing to do with anything. Just like with Tom Crowley, Pat Beilein, and even JAM, information may leak out but it's not going to come from inside the AD's office. I know what happened from each one of those incidents, but none of it came from Simon Gray. People want facts because they are naturally nosey and feel entitled but after 71 years on this earth, I find that the best thing is done and these situations are handles fairly well to protect both the school and the individual involved.

Good points

The list of “issues” shall we say is growing quite long at NU it seems…. A little too long.
