Rev. Vincent J. O'Malley, C.M., died Monday, January 6 at St. Vincent's Seminary, Philadelphia. Born September 10, 1945, in Philadelphia to Mary (O'Connell) and Vincent O'Malley.

Ordained a priest in the Congregation of the Mission (Vincentians) May 26, 1973. His 52 years of priesthood included three assignments to Niagara University in administration and teaching. He made major improvements to the Athletic Department, leading to induction into the NU Athletic Hall of Fame. Fr. O'Malley loved laughter and good times. He was a man of deep faith, great wisdom, and peace.

Besides his parents, Fr. O'Malley was preceded in death by brother Bartholomew, sister Catherine, nephews Charles Balogh and Patrick Minix. Five sisters and one brother survive him: Mary (Ron) Brunner, San Diego, CA; Margaret (John) McGinley, Poughkeepsie, NY; Anne (David) Minix, Fredericksburg, VA; Frances O'Malley, Lewes, DE; Helen O'Malley, Woodbury, NJ; William O'Malley, Sahuarita, AZ. He leaves behind 18 nieces, nephews and their spouses.

Wake and funeral was held at St. Vincent's Seminary, Philadelphia on January 11.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Fr. O'Malley's memory to the O'Malley Scholarship Fund, Niagara U. Development Office, NU, NY 14109.
