Who in gods green earth would give any money to the NU NIL. I heard they only had 6-7 donors. Good luck raising that money next year. Many of us proudly give nothing to NU. The reason NU has failed to become a small successful basketball program is due to the fact that throughout it's history, no one person or group of people have stepped forward with enough money to change the fortune of the program. No programs become successful by the school president declaring it or the AD stating it. You look at Bona and you see where money was dedicated by a group of people to retain their successful coach. St John's was tired of losing and spent a bundle trying to pay coaches, but it wasn't until a tremendous amount of money was dedicated to hiring a coach and supplying a huge pot of NIL funds did SJU turn the corner. YOu can blame Simon, Fr Maher, or anyone else you want to pick out, but the lack of huge financial contributions throughout the years are the reason NU hasn't come off the starting line. It was right in front of your nose, well you might have been a younger man at the time, but in MODERN TIMES they had a bargain in a shit facility and a coach who could make things happen. They let him go. he would have stayed for less money that Hofstra offered. So pick out someone and blame the shit out of them, but at some point LEARN THE HISTORY and understand WHY things are the way they are. It didn't just happen. The campus is beautiful and it has many newer residential buildings. The majority of students live on campus providing a real campus environment.
