Auto-trac. You do not have to do all that pumping.Hold the coil out in front of you, about waist leavel and away from metals and the ground. Push the switch to Air and you will hear a beep lower the coil the ground and pull the switch back to Grnd.Auto Trac and wait for another beep. Unlessyou have groung balanced over hidden metal, there should now be NO change in the threshold as the coil is raised from the ground. It is really that easy, and Auto-Trac keeps the detector balanced as ground coditions change. Every time Sig Bal. is adjusted, the ground Bal needs to be repeated. hope that helps. HH BJ
