To set the record straight the Peter Elias received 200,000 TT in support for Ms World Gabrielle Wakcott from the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs.
Mr Elias received the first 100,000 earlier this year and stated later on that it was used to pay off last year's bills. Note that Sponsorship given by the Government has to be used in the year it was intended for not the previous year. After Mr Elias made an outcry of lack of sponsorship he recedived an addtitional 100,000.00.
It is not the responsibility of the Government to foot the entire bill when offering assistance and the Ministry has many other projects which offer assistance to individuals and communities as well as Scholarships all of which have a set budget of funds that can me distributed equitably.

Well you do raise an important (and good) point Ria. If they gave money for 08, then it should be used for 08, but obviously Ria, Peter probably had to use from his own funds to cover Valene`s preparation.
So the fact is if he does intend to continue, I think Peter cant depend on the Government for 100 percent of the funding, because they dont seem interested.

jus a question: how do the other countries raise support for their delegates, is it through fund raising or gov't support?
