Apparently, the winners of the fast track events do not automatically qualify for the finals. Instead, points will be awarded for placements in all of the five fast track events. Based on these points, semifinalists for the MW final will be chosen. I am still unclear if a separate ten finalists will still be chosen based on the classic criteria or SS, EG and interview. I am hoping for a top 20 this year. BB and Top Model are the two fast tracks that usually have the most semifinalists. I am hoping that Lee Ann places in the top 10 of both these events. Based on what I am reading online, the top 5 finalists of MW will have to place in at least 3 fast track events. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Lee Ann places in the aforementioned two events. I have to say I like the fluidity of her competition gown but the top beadwork better pick up well on the MW stage otherwise it might not just comm off as dated but atrocious next to the georgeous and expesive fabric that composes the lower part of the gown. The "I like it but I ain't sure it is really a top competition gown" feeling I get with this makes me think it is a Peter Elias creation but I guess we will have to wait for the name of the designer to be revealed. O.K. So I know I am not a fan of this " Lee Ann needs to go to MU" bandwagon since I think she should win Miss World but I have to say out loud that a simple, greecian inspired design might work for Lee Ann if per chance she ever has to compete internationally again. I must quickly add that she is still my top pick for the crown but Sweden, Venezuela and Spain might be the ones to beat in the eyes of many. (Yes, I still don't think Ireland is 'all of that' but you never know). On an aside, I have to say that I have not really been paying attention to MI2011 but from the very little I have seen I think Renne could possibly crack the top 15.
