Mele obediently stepped backwards so that she was leaning against the wall, never taking her eyes off the firstborn chirr. She watches as the chirr she loved so moved silently forward, drifting towards the group of Qynes. A sudden fear paralyzed the girl, and all she could do was watch as the dark chirr made her decision with one toss of her golden mane. For a moment Mele was certain that the chirr would not come to her, but instead to another Qyne, but her fears vanished in the next second as she meet the shining blue eyes. Like one in a dream, she moves forward to wrap the chirr in a hug, all the while hearing her words echo in her mind. I am Ombre. You are my Bonded, Mele! Ombre watched her lifemate with adoring eyes, and her gaze was returned by equally loving green eyes. Then both fell into a deep slumber, oblivious to anything but each other.

Maeko watched the Bonding with an ever-sinking heart. Then she felt her breath catch in her throat as the red-gold chirr stepped forward. She gently stroked the broad head one last time, painfully aware now that she would not be the one to Bond with the chirr. She manages to force a smile onto her face for Zaniel, then turned slowly to leave. At that moment she met a pair of golden eyes, and her sorrow was forgotten. I am Tennerre, Maeko. We are Bonded! A blanket of warmth and love covered her soul then, and while she knew she was sorry not to have Bonded 'Beauty'(Or Lumiere as she was now), Maeko knew she would not have it any other way. Her friends had Bonded, and she, too, had a soulmate. The last conscious thing she did was to send a sleepy feeling of love towards Tennerre. I love you, Tennerre. As she feel into the deep sleep of the recently Bonded, she heard the thought returned by the gray chirr. And I love you, Maeko. And the pair fell asleep curled up on the floor next to each other, although neither would remember after that how they had gotten there.
