She gives Toireasa a sad look. "You missed out on a lot. Most of the Ghostcats were excellent, but you must've been having a bad streak of luck then - the 49 was a dud. I guess you got one of the last ones; the rebs got rid of all of theirs about six months ago.
"As for Japanese fighter ships...well, put it this way: people fall all over themselves to get their hands on 'em, that's how good they are. Even the American ones don't do that well, and the Ghostcats were American. 'Cept for the 49, which had been delegated to a bunch of French scientists." She snorts. "Leave the French to their tanks, please." Shaking her head, she goes on to say, "Tanari imports their ships from the shipyards in Vega. Good fighters, but not quite as good as anything from old Earth. After all, the Reliance line was second-best the year the Ghostcat 72 and the Lóng made their debuts. You'll be able to pilot good ships on Tanari." She grins conspiratorially at Toireasa, as though sharing a good joke.
