(A note to our readers: It's great to be back after a long-time away! I had every intention of posting, but things just got so busy. I'd encourage our archive moles to dig up any dirt on these two fighting. I don't think it was ever posted, but I will accept a correction, if needed. In not, then let this count as our RPG's answer to the questions raised about their last meeting in X5. The fight begins...)
Grizzly took a swipe at him with his giant claw. Zero side stepped, then did a mid-air cartwheel flip, and landed a kick square to his opponents face. Zero landed, and moved for a sweep kick, but Grizzly was fast. He back peddled, and then leaped over the kick. He tried to bring his weight down to crush Zero's leg, but the sweep had already cleared.
"Nice trick!", Grizz had told him. "Here's one of mine!
Grizzly leaped into the air, and disappeared into the ceiling! Zero saw that his giant claw arm became a drill arm. He was drilling his way into the soft moon rock.
Suddenly, with a burst of debris, he appeared out of the wall. He took a swipe at Zero, which almost took his head off. Zero's arm formed into a buster, and he blasted Grizzly with a fully charged shot. The plasma burned into his shoulder. Grizz retreated into the hole. Just then, the ceiling came crashing down. Grizzly, fell out from the whole, with his giant claw charging energy. It seemed as if crescent shaped plasma projectiles formed on his arm. He flung them at Zero. Each one glowed a bright golden color, but went chaoticly wide to be of any threat. That's when Grizz showed his true power. A Giant Arc of plasma flew from his hand, and straight toward Zero. It hit him, and knocked him over. The plasma burned his armor, but he got up.
Another wave charged forward. Zero Dashed out of the way, and leaped forwad with a kick square to the midsection. He spun around, and slashed out with his saber. And upward thrust sheared a spike from Grizzly's chest, and burned a scar into his face. Grizzly's eye melted, and exploded.
He clutched his face with his hand, and fell to his knees screaming. "Gahhh! Zero..you'll pay for that!"
But before Zero could make a cocky reply, payment came with a slash of the claw. The razor sharp blades passed through his arm, tearing circuitry, and wiring. Black fluid splashed out from his arm. Zero cried out in pain. Grizzly began to laugh. Inside Zero's mind, he heard the cackling voice of the mysterious scientist. He heard the scream of Gamma...a victim from his past rage. A blackness took over his mind, and his damaged arm reaced for his Z-Saber. The arm burned, and flowed with an evil energy. It seemed to be healing him, yet he could not understand it. He felt like blacking out.
He moved, but he did not will himself to. He had not control as the rage took him. He drew out the saber, and slashed with all of his might. He slashed at the wound he had created with his buster. The burn in the armor made the shoulder joint weak, and exposed. The saber passed through it with little resistance, and seperated the giant claw arm from the rest of Grizzly's body. Grizzly was aghast with pain, and fled the room in a horrible rage; cursing, and swearing revenge. (Weeks later when had been fully repaired, a new drill arm had been fitted to his body. When the technicians asked him if he wanted the scar repaired, he simply asked that they leave it. He wanted a reminder of what revenge would become...if he ever got the chance to meet Zero again!)
When Zero came to, the black rage had passed, but a trail of black fluid left a trail. Zero did not remember what happened, but saw the arm, and figured out the rest. He had no time to lose. He quickly searched the room for any sign of exit. Truth be told, he had no idea where this room was. The teleporter could have taken him back to Earth for all he knew! But, in actuallity, he wasn't very far away from the hangar. Suddenly a door slid open on the far side f the room, and light flooded into the chamber. A figure appeared in the door. It was Sonic Blade.
"Zero, there you are! I was so worried. Are you okay?"
Zero looked down at his arm. Strangely, there was no wound. He could not understand what had happened. "Yeah, I'm fine. What happened to you?", He asked. "I was teleported to a different level. I had to use my map to find you. The Shuttle bay is this way, hurry!" (to be continued)
