Subject: Only one other show for me...
In reply to: SMH 's message, "I have an obsessive personality" on 12:31:19 08/22/02 Thu

My first big obsession was MASH, but as was pointed out by IG and Chantal that was pre internet and VCR times so it was a very lonely obsession. But to show how bad it was, I used to record every MASH episode on a little audio tape recorder and then playback the episodes over and over at night until I fell asleep! I even went out and got a lot of army gear at a surplus store. Whew! I was bad! I would have loved to have had the internet then to talk with others about MASH.

Somehow I can't see me getting as involved with another show since X-Files but who knows for sure? I was surprised I got hooked on that because I wasn't even interested in watching it the first 3 seasons. But nothing on tv really grabs me anymore. I did love Seinfeld too but I think SMH has me beat with that. ;-) I didn't tape the episodes.

For me though, a bigger obsession was always music. I could get more hooked on groups and also buying CDs, videos, taping videos off tv. I used to live, breathe and sleep The Beatles and I also just liked a lot of other music in general. Again that all has slowed down quite a bit. I still enjoy talking to people about shared interests though.
