As Det said earlier, the Star Trek movies did a big business and the TV show had been off the air for years before it came out. I think the problem with the first XF movie was they tried to turn it into a DD action film. Almost a Bruce Willis type knock off. Stick to the original concept of some action, and lots of of brain power at work. The MSR came across clearly on the big screen, much more so than on the little screen even. I think they should use that and let DD and GA do what they do best. Play Mulder and Scully. As for when, I think right after the show ended. I don't like the idea of history, as we know it, being changed. I realize not all the fans were happy with the way the series ended. I still can not watch the episode where Scully gives up William. It is too sad and it angers me. But I have to deal with that. Maybe they could pick up with M and S, living under assumed names somewhere. Then the news hits that the world is going to end........M and S to the RESCUE!
