Late to table...sorry about that.

But I'd like to suggest the third most important character is 'Mystery' or 'The Unknown'. I know, I know, I'm cheating but I was thinking back on the discussion about whether we were glad S9 was the last and the section in that 'debate' where people were talking about the MSR etc. Incidentally, I hope when people say the MSR that they also mean other aspects than just the romantic relationship. Their friendship has had lots of other factors too! I digress. I wanted to say that M & S would not have been drawn together to work, had it not been for The X Files. One might argue for TXF being the lead character (as CC tries unsuccessfully to convince us it is) but we don't buy that for a second, we who think we have an insight into the main characters' lives. So, mystery/unknown/supernatural/TXF. This is third lead.
