I will say that even if we were getting Full Service Mulder this season I wouldn't be overly excited because its too early. We still have two months almost to wait. It's also sad because, like we've had to go through the past THREE dang seasons, we go in thinking it might be the last. :-(

As for the season itself. Of course it would be better with Mulder but I'm still interested in what happens to Scully. And Doggett too!

I have read a few tidbits of spoilers and things sound interesting. What I think will happen is that
I will be mostly interested in eps involving Scully and how the Season 8 develpments will be dealt with and anything mythology related or stories involving old characters or plots revisted. I probably won't be as keen on standard MOTWs with Doggett and Reyes just chasing monsters. We'll see. If they tie Doggett and Reyes in with the myth arc it would be far more compelling.
