I have never agreed with you totally that S8&9 were disasters. I do think that Mulder and Scully should have finished at S7 and they could have gone straight into a movie and still kept Dog and Mon going with the TV show. I do believe that time is of the essence. I think GA looks every bit as good as big mouth Roberts but I'm thinking more along the lines of DD getting long in the tooth. ....and looking it. GA is only about 36 I think. Scully on the other hand was born in 64 making her 40 .....hmmmmm. I think your idea is the best now I think of it because finishing in S7 and launching into a movie would have been great. Picking up with Mulder's abduction. They could have just made the next 2 parter a bit longer and more exciting and they would have had it. But get Mulder back at the end of the movie, not ages later.

I got sent something that said DD and GA are on board with the movie and CC and co have finished the story and are yet to start a script. RP said if asked, he would love to be in the movie too. It will supposedly pick up straight after M and S take off and will be the type of scariness akin to HOME. And NOT be a mythology. That could work. M and S arrive somewhere and there's a scary mystery to solve. But I too agree it has to be good. I also agree that most teens would not care for it unless they taylor it to them and I think that would spoil the essence of what is the X Files. They'd have to stay true to form. I just think they should hurry it up before they need to write in an intermission so the geriatric fans can take a leak half way through.
