X-Files Fan Fiction was (or is) the BEST!!

I don't know how many of you here read a lot of XF fanfic, but I was a huge fanfic devotee, both as a writer and a reader, for "The X-Files". It was my first real exposure to fan fiction and I really enjoyed it.
However, it has apparently spoiled me for life! Because, for the most part, XF fanfic was quite well-written. Yes, there were occasional "clunker" stories that were obviously written by semi-literate teens with a crush on David Duchovny. But, overall, they were written by people who actually understood rules grammar, had some idea of how to create a plot and write interesting dialogue and knew how to use a spell-checker!
Occasionally, I'll go to a fanfic site for a show I enjoy now and it's just. . .pathetic. Most of the stories don't even seem to be completed works. They're more like disjointed notes for a story the author may write at some point. The grammar is atrocious, the dialogue is stilted and every other word is mispelled!
