As much as I wanted to really get into reading these, time constraints (and a super slow dial-up) have forced me to put this on the back burner. When we move into a new house I plan on wiring it with ethernet and get high speed internet one way or another!

I do know what you mean. If conversational grammar is any indication of written grammar skills, your comment is quite on the mark. I am in a lot of schools and it irritates me as I walk through the halls to hear the lousy conversational grammar skills of far too many high school students. We expect our special ed kids to learn proper grammar and some of their skills exceed their non-special ed peers.
