I was never a Gunsmoke watcher but I would imagine that show wasn't as strong as in it's earlier years. Once DD left I think TXF days were numbered. I just wish in the episodes he did appear in in the last two seasons they had done something more substantial.
Heck, I'm still mad that they killed off Samantha and stuck us with Fowley!

I just read today that they are hinting that Mulder and Scully's friendship might indeed move onto something more but no one is talking. Who knows? It might be all hype to generate buzz about the film.

Since they are doing a standard monster plot rather than an alien one what about the film is going to draw more interest than the MSR?

I do agree that they need to pay attention to what the old fans want. If they are only planning on marketing this movie to the general public they may be sorry.
