I get the idea that CC & Co. *do* want us to like JD. I already do. I am *sooooo* geared up for this season. It seems like Mulder will be mentioned or somehow brought into the story in every ep. I think this is an terrific opportunity to get into that major angst that has only seen the light of day in the fanfic world. They x-files started out as a show of just 'scary stories,' or at least it was meant to be that, but the M/S dynamic has become an integral part of the show that will be missed. I think M/S *and* the scary stories make the show what it is, and if it lost either one, it'd transform into a new show, that may be watchable or not. I don't think the M/S dynamic or connection or whatever will be lost at all this season. I may agree that Fox is milking the x-files cow to death, and that last year I wanted them to end the show, now that the spoiler-mill has started I'm definitely more than ready to give S8 a try.
