That's not very kind, for a start. As I understand it (and I'm a season behind so maybe people will think my opinion doesn't hold much sway) Doggett is meant to be brought in precisely to find Mulder. What's to dislike about that? Someone whose job it is to find and maybe rescue Mulder from his predicament should have our support. *We* want to find Mulder too don't we?

As for the characters of CSM and Fowley and Krycek - they are all fantastic characters (I think I am one of only a few people who thought there was a great back story going on with Mulder and Fowley). No-one really wants to lose good old Cancerman or sex-on-a-stick-all-out-for-himself Krycek. They are great to watch. So, even if Doggett turned out to be disappointing, he may have a fascination all his own. I think I said before - look at how everyone feared Chris Owens' role, yet he never overtook Mulder, not for a minute.

I wish too, wholeheartedly, that S7 had been the end of the TV series but as that isn't to be, I feel we have to see how it goes and be positive.
