I'm not too terribly worried about the movie thing; at least in regard to DD. (Remember Sean Connery/James Bond/Never Say Never Again?) What I'm more worried about is that there simply isn't going to *BE* a second movie. The normal schedule for movie series (i.e. Star Trek, James Bond, etc.) is one movie every three years. Since the "The X-Files Movie: Fight the Future" came out in June of 1998, this would mean the next one should come out in June of 2001, less than nine months from now. Rather obviously, it's not, since they haven't even begun filming it.
Some of the comments CC has made make me wonder if he's just shelved the whole idea of an "XF" movie franchise. If DD does decide to bow out of the Mulder role, forever, after Season 8, I will have the bittersweet glory of at least being able to say "I told you so".
Last winter, when they first began to seriously talk about an eighth season, despite the fact that both DD and GA were clearly tired of the grind of a weekly TV series, I pointed out that I'd rather have them leave the series with good feelings, and thus be open to the idea of virtually endless "XF" movies, than be dragged back for another season of "XF" on TV against their wishes, because doing it for too long on TV might make them want to never play Mulder and Scully again, even in movies.
As for the "favorite actress" thing. . .I've heard him praise Tea's talents in lots of other interviews. But maybe the question was pertaining to actresses he's worked with? Except for the brief scene with Garry Shandling and GA in "Hollywood, A.D.", I don't think TL and DD have ever worked together.
Yes, the forums are acting a bit wiggy! I *KNOW* I posted something to the Season 7 board last night, but now it's not there.
