Subject: Are there more male or female XF viewers?

This post ties together a subject line that has been brought up in replies to posts on several other boards (Season 8, Mythology and Mulder and Scully): Is the audience of "The X-Files" predominantly male or predominatly female? Or is pretty much 50-50? And do men and women watch the show for different reasons?
Does anybody know, for sure, what the demographics are for the XF audience? Obviously, some shows (i.e. Monday Night Football) are viewed mostly by men, while others (i.e. "Judging Amy" or "Providence") have a predominatnly female audience. Others (like "Who Wants to be a Millionaire") are split pretty evenly.
Most of "us" (those here on these boards) seem to be women as are the vast majority of XF fanfic writers. I don't know if that means more women than men watch XF or if we just like to "talk" and write about the show more than men do.
I think the audience has shifted. When XF first came out, it primarly appealed to males in the 14-25 year old category. Now, I think the audience is predominantly women in the 24-45 year old age range. Case in point: my younger brother began watching the show during Season One, but he is now only a sporadic viewer. I didn't begin watching 'til Season Four, but now I'm totally hooked. (Gee, bet you'd never have guessed!)
I also think men and women tend to watch the show for somewhat different reasons. Most women (certainly not all) tend to watch more the Mulder/Scully interaction, while men tend to watch more the sci-fi/conspiracy stuff. Any thoughts?
