"For those who weren't able to make it, a short review on the entire thing :

There were at the end of the hour 222 users on line, and it's a shame they translated the whole thing in French (especially DD's answers), for all the Americans (and Europeans) that were on line. The mderator mostly took French questions and translated them in English but never the other way around, so all his answers were translated instantly. I'm not sure how the chat went though; if he was on line or on the phone.
He was really nice, "virtually" laughing a lot with (and I also believe at some people ;)).
From my POV he's really keen on the Evolution project, and was talking about that a lot. He's going to be involved with that for a couple of months, and it's starting to film already in a few weeks (I believe he said in LA).
After that he's going to take time off with his 'little family' as he called it ;))
He was very vague about a ninth XF season and said that it would depend on negotations. He also said that if there were to be a second XF movie, he would most likely not be in it. His immediate words were : If I were to play Mulder in a second movie, people would forever consider me to be him and I will never get rid of this stamp on my head. (roughly translated ;))
He really believes that playing this character in Evolution will be his big entry into the movies, and he's counting on that. He said vaguely there were already a couple of other interesting projects, and plenty of new opportunities. He also joked that he didn't need XF anymore.
He was very nice for Gillian too. Several people asked if he got along with Gillian and he said of course. Later when they asked him who his favorite actress so far was, he said Gillian. I mean, how nice can you be?
He was also very friendly towards Robert Patrick, in a way that he hoped this character would bring a new spirit into TXF. (I think he's secretly hoping in a way that the Doggett character will help him get rid of his Mulder-stamp in a way, and my second opinion is that in no way he'll be back for a season nine, especially when Evolution hits theatres next year and will become a major hit. He btw also confirmed that it's Julianne Moore who will be the lead actress, and that the first rehearsals will start after she finishes the Hannibal-project).

During the entire chat he mentioned Téa several times. it's obvious he's extremely proud of her !
He promised there would be another chat after Evolution hits the theatres.
His favorite music has been mentioned too but it all went so fast I kind of missed it ;)) He likes foreign movies and has no time to watch tv. He is not playing to direct right now because he believes that directing a movie or a tv-show are two different things. Because of Evolution he has no time to concentrate on writing either.

After this chat I am convinced that he made the right choice leaving TXF (partly) now and concentrating on new movies. Even though I love TXF with my whole heart, I believe that this man is going to make it big into the movies, and that he will spend the next couple of years making a name for himself that will make us forget Fox Mulder (this is never possible, I know ;)).
I mean, I think you can compare it a bit with the GEorge Clooney situation. Everyone said that he would forever stay Doug Ross, but he made a name for himself in the movies, and I am convinced that it's about time DD did the same.
I also believe that with this chat he made it clear that he doesn't need TXF anymore. He said it jokingly but you could tell he's relieved he's not on the set anymore. I think that he's coming back to give Mulder a nice farewell, but I believe that he won't be back next year. If that's the case, then I do hope that some people at Fox have the sense to call it quits after this year instead of continuing the franchise once agian with another year and more movies (without DD).
Of course between saying and doing there's a lot of money, and I'm sure that when the right amount comes along, everyone can be convinced. That's why I am truly hoping that Evolution will be his big break, and that it will show (once again) this man is made for a career outside of TXF, even though I would find it a terrible shame if the show went on without him.
I'd say : wait and see.
But this chat once again proved that this man is simply the best. I think he's changed from previous chats. He was much more relaxed and outgoing and I loved every minute of it. Hopefully there will be a log of this chat but they closed the room very quickly so I'm not sure. " unquote
