Subject: en ami (spoilers) - thankyou william b davis!

i take back everything i said! i loved it! :) i was hoping the next ep would come and prove me wrong.

det - you know how you said you liked eps that were sort of serial killer-ish? well, en ami is the sort of ep i like. where everything that happens is a complete surprise and you really get to delve into the character's minds.

there's just so much to talk about with this ep i don't know where to start. :)

remember how we said that scully meeting CSM in closure (i think) wasn't as good as it could have been? this totally made up for it IMO. i thought it was a great chance to put CSM and scully together in a new surrounding, and it came up with some great stuff. like CSM's opinions on scully, - how he has a special affection for her, how he thinks she's attracted to strong men. i mean, looking back on it, i wonder how much was bullshit and how much was sincere, but the stong men theory was interesting - i've never really thought about it! i thought GA was great, BTW. you could totally see scully moving towards believeing the guy, and having some kind of trust in him at the end. unfortunately, i forgot to trust no one, and ended up believeing the whole thing myself! :) slapped wrist for cvl! but the ending was strange. i can see why CSM threw the cd in the water at the end, but when you consider all the planning that had gone into his deception.....i guess maybe scully had really opened something up in him. again, i thought the interaction between CSM and scully was great - he really did seem to care for her. i really liked the scene where she wakes up and tries to leave but he pursuades her not to. and his claims that he saved scully's life when she had cancer - personally that isn't convincing for me - since as he, in effect, gave her cancer in the first place and almost killed her and mulder again in FTF. but this time, i guess he really did save her life. maybe both CSM and scully both realised something new about each other. and what about the chip in the neck. since that old woman was 118, is that how scully becomes immortal?

and then mulder. i think his scenes were probably my favourites! didn't he look lovely in that black polo neck BTW! :) any chance of a picture det?! ;) but i thought DD was amazing too - the scene at the end in his apartment - mulder was just so blankfaced, you could tell he was hurt. and in skinner's office, - BTW didn't you love the line where skinner was asking whether his assistant was there? - kinda taking the piss for all those times mulder and scully have just burst in! anyway, :) i really just felt for mulder, totally left in the dark and not knowing why. and he never got scully's tape either. i was wondering if he's going to be able to trust scully again. or as much as he did. which reminds me of the scene where CSM asks scully about when she first trusted mulder, and his refusal of her answer - i'm sure there's somehting in that but i'm not quite sure what!

back to mulder, i loved the scene where TLG arrive - nice to see them again BTW - and his conversation with them, ie) his disbelief that she's gone. also when they arrive at skinner's office, - skinner looked like he was wondering what the hell was going on!

in fact there were loads of really interesting scenes - like mulder with scully's janitor - and his description of her - the really great girl, independent stuff, - what was that about?! :)

have i missed anything? :)

i can't tell you how much i needed this ep - its totally restored my faith. :) i only hope we get a couple more like it in the last eps to come.

i might go read some thoughts on S7 discussion - i'd love to know what you all thought before.

BTW, i'm going to london tommorow, but i might try get to a cyber cafe. if not, i'll be back to talk more XF on monday!

cvl :)
