I remember the Brand X smile Scully gave Skinner. I, for one, never actually thought Scully and Skinner ever got it on. I just thought she's always had an innocent little minor infatuation with him. Something about the authority I think Scully likes.

I also don't think Mulder and Scully were acting particularly detached in this episode BECAUSE they were trying to throw Skinner in the wrong direction. I think that is really overanalyzing, something I do way too much when it comes to XF. I just can't imagine that CC or anyone else would tell Duchovny and Anderson to act detached because the viewers are going to find out later that they're getting it on. The REASON that wouldn't happen is because they are NOT getting it on! :-P
