It's been even longer since I've seen this ep and I'm kind of fuzzy on the notes thing too. But I think the walkins were meant to take kids who were going to be brutally murdered so Sam was going to be killed anyway. Did we see Amber Lyn dead? Did she come out of one of the graves or did we only see her at the end? Maybe you're right and the walkins can't stop all children from being killed. But why have the parents be blamed for their childrens deaths? But maybe the grave children are released from their pain and become walkins which may be akin to angels.
Ah, too much to sort out!

I thought the reason Jeff had no memory of Sam was because at some point his father instructed that his memory be erased (they did it in Deep Throat). Or maybe it just nevercame up. Did Spender know about Mulder's abducted sister? Even if he did there's no real reason for gim to connect her with a childhood friend.

Maybe Mrs. M was brainwashed into thinking she murdered Sam heself and she thought she was delusional for thinkng she'd seen Sam's ghost and wondered if she had killed her and couldn't tell Mulder that so she committed suicide.Maybe CSM convinced her of that and it sent her over the edge. (Can you tell I'm making stuff up here?)
I just realised, has it ever been known what sort of things Mrs. M believed in? Would she be a believer like Mulder? Did she know about the alien colonization plot and if so did she think it was all hogwash like Scully?
