I think most TV shows in the past 15 years have just taken this theme *WAY* too far. Back in the 1980s, in shows like "Remington Steele" and "Moonlighting" and "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" there would be some romantic conflict during the first year or two the characters knew each other -- which was actually kinda/sorta realistic, as they were still in the "getting to know each other" stage -- but, by the third or fourth season of the show they would be "together". This made sense. Dancing around each other for an entire decade (which is, I think, about how long the Harm/Mac silliness has been going on in JAG) is just ridiculous and makes the characters look stupid.
