"That's it!" the Mayor huffs, as CW wipes flaking paint from the shoulders of her mumu. "I demand you paint in here. This is disgusting!"

"But!" Kande starts to protest but thinks better of it. Better to go to the hardware store and buy cheap paint and put Bubba to work than to face a hefty fine. Her face brightens. Say...maybe the bro has some left-over paint. Taupe is an OK color.

KS taps Kande on the shoulder. "Are you OK? You were mumbling and scrunching up your face."

Kande turns and looks at her sister. KS has her new ipod dangling from her neck like a necklace. "I'm fine."

KS turns and looks over at CW and the Mayor. "What happened here? A taupe paint chip bomb? They're all the rage, you know."

The Mayor scowls at Kande, hand hovering over the fine book in her pocket. "Kande was just getting ready to paint."

"Bubbbbaaaa!" Kande hollers and then jumps when the little alien appears noiselessly beside her. "AAARRR! Don't do that. Say...what's that on your shoulder? A little taupe worm?"

Bubba's hand moves swiftly to his shoulder, where his new little buddy is squirming around. It would be just like Kande to try to take his new pet. Well, she'd never take him alive!

"Hee, hee. A taupeworm, get it?" KS titters. Behind her, the rest of the Klub bursts into guffaws.

Kande beams. "I made a funny."

"No, you said taupe worm. I said taupeworm." Behind KS, the crowd erupts into laughter again. She smiles and waves. "I'm the funny one."

"Wha-? You're out of your gourd. I said it first." Kande's fists clench, but before the two can start fighting, another brick is tossed through the last unbroken window.
