The mayor is clearly on a roll. She's pretty sure there's a fine for not thinking of the obvious, so she quickly writes up and distributes fines to all present. Bubba scowls as he gets his. How's he going to pay this? With dust bunnies? That didn't go over so well the last time he tried it.

CW looks at the mayor over her reading glasses, and lifts an eyebrow. Ignoring the fine, she says, "Mayor, why don't you read the note attached to the other brick?"

"Why, don't mind if I do." The mayor looks pleased as she grabs the brick and heads to the microphone on the stage. She removes the string tying the note to the brick and tosses it carelessly aside. Bubba scurries over to grab the string before it hits the ground. He shoves it in a pocket in his apron, already planning his nighttime alley cat hunting expedition. Oooo! A chance to wear camouflage!

"*ahem* Is this thing on?" The mayor's voice booms through the speakers. "Okey-dokey, here's the note." The mayor reads it to herself first, her lips moving only slightly. She frowns. "Someone will have to pay a serious fine for this!"

"What is it?" asks IG.

"It's an advertisement for bricks! For building 'your dream home'! I ask you, who in Shipperville is building their dream home?" The mayor glares at her constituents.

CW clears her throat. "Um...I am?"

The mayor brightens. "Oh, that's right! I have a gift to send you for that, too!"

"What's the note say on the other side?" asks Kande, who very astutely noted printing on the back side of the note.

The mayor turns the note over and reads it. "It appears to be for paint. Only in taupe, though. Who would paint their house only in taupe - including ceilings? How boring is that?"

Kande smirks. "My brother would. Or that's what mom says, anyway. She thinks it's all the rage."

"Taupe? Rage? Oh, I don't think so!" CW and the mayor guffaw in unison.

"Hey, I'm not sayin' I agree with it." Kande sounds a wee bit defensive, well aware that the klub is in serious need of painting.

The mayor looks around the klub. "So...when was the last time you painted in here...?"
