I remember a time , can't think what season it was, where Sclly really ticked me off. She never smiled and she poo pooed everything that Mulder thought and said. I think Mulder let her know his feelings , directly or indiretly, way early on and she just was in denial for ages and ages. Right up to that night in Althings whether it was the first time they did it or the first time she actually let herself feel comfortable and accepting of the fact that they were doing it. It was only after Millenium that Scully started to lighten up a bit and get a bit playful and joky. You know, giving Mulder the look when he ogled that high school girl in Rush; the tie fiddling; her reaction to him ogling Jade Blue Afterglow and FPS; smiling and saying she liked baseball in Goldberg; her playful excitment in je Souhaite and subsequent disappointment not to mention the way she bounded into Mulder's office that morning and found the no-mouth guy sitting there. Yeah, after Millenium things changed for Scully. She became human. Perky, flirtatious.........I think those Millenium - Requium eps are my favourites of all the series.
