I respect your opinion and I agree with you on some level, IG! I agree that it *would* have given them the right to make medical decisions for eachother, but getting married only to "spare her the embarassment of an un-wed pregnancy"? What is that?

I think I'm one of those people who believe that marrige isn't for eveybody, and just because it is expected of you, doen't mean it is *right* for you. I think we all had this conversation before once. I don't believe that a ring on your finger and a piece of paper tells your family and friends that you love and respect eachother, *you* do. My mother was pregnant with my sister as an un-wed mother and I don't believe that she was embarrassed once the whole time. I certainly wasn't embarrassed of her, I was happy knowing I was going to have a sibling soon. My family never looked down their noses at her, there was no reason to.

As far as Mulder and Scully are concerned, it would have been wonderful to see them married, but CC doesn't even want us knowing HOW William was conceieved, nevermind allowing us to see M&S happy and content in marital bliss...
