I think the feelings that Skinner and Doggett do have for Scully are respect and the urge to try to take care of. She has lost a lot over the years and she keeps fighting. I think CC has done a great job of using the male urge to defend and take care of the female without being sexist. Doggett saw himself in Scully, they both were suffering from a great loss. I thing she saw the same in him, the did become friends and good partners.
