Bernard:

I know what you mean. It seems of late the "let's erase Brian Jones" campaign has taken on a life of its own. I had my TV tuned to a documentary the other day and it was about one of the founding fathers of Blues guitar work. Unfortunately I wasn't paying a lot of attention to it and didn't catch his name (the TV show was City Confidential), however, they started talking about the 60's, and mentioned this fellow had died at the age of 27.

My ears perked up right then, and sure enough they mentioned those who were influenced by him, and among them were the Rolling Stones. They showed a pix of the band during that period, and there were just 4 of them. Brian was cropped out of the picture. I knew that picture too, and Brian was standing right beside Charlie on the left of the print, but he wasn't there. I was outraged, but then thought of just how much influence "Sonny" Klein has over what's presented about the Stones. Maybe it's Keith and Mick doing the "editing", but it was such a travesty I almost cried. How sad for Brian and his memory. I don't know of a single other musician who's being so deliberately erased from history.
