Heres the thing FGWM, I didnt earn enough in my life to get enough in SS retirement to self support. And my husband died just 8 months shy of the number of years required for me to get his widows benefits. You must be married 9 years I think. So at nearly 67, I still need to work, enjoy working, and have the mind and body of someone much younger anyway, so why not? Problem being, no one wants to hire over 45 anymore in this country. Experience doesnt count, they want them young so they can train 'em up in their methods only. Sad fact Im fighting every day. Just last week I started a job that I lost three days later when the staff objected to my not being Hispanic. Im still bristling from that one, but cannot do a thing about it. Colorado is an at will state, they can fire for no cause, if they dont like the color of your eyes in fact. Ive never been let go for being white, and it bothers me a lot. Im not a bigot, but it seems some of those from across the border just might be.
And no way am I looking for younger men! Im no cougar, sir!! I like men who have actually heard of 1967, swinging London, 13th Floor Elevators, and The Stones. Youd be amazed at how many havent! Actually Im not in the market at all, too much water under the bridge, safer single.
Not sure Im a "great writer" but after I get the job thing sorted out I am going to see if I can get any interest in my book. In the meantime Ive started writing another, a ghost story this time involving a dead rock star trapped in a haunted mansion in the Colorado mountains. The setting is actually my once owned Victorian that really is quite the most haunted place in that town.
Anyway, your post caused me to fall off my chair in a fit of giggles and for that I thank you! Nice start to the dull day.
