Gloria who?? I don't think I know this woman, but I did read about the tapes and papers in various books and magazines. I've also discussed them with other Brian fans. Unfortunately, I don't make a habit of collecting these things, mainly because I felt the same way you do when I read them...so in the trash they went.

It seems to me right now that the word "vehemence" replies more to your own letter than to anything anyone else has said here. I'm glad you're vehement about Brian. More people should be! there are too many vehement disparagers of him out there, and not enough "Brian freaks", as we're called. Sigh!

The absolutely last thing I'm asking is for an explanation of why you think Brian just fell into the pool and drowned! I've heard dozens of reasons people have given for this, and you're more than entitled to your's, especially since you have an emotional tie to him. If I sounded like I was trying to convince you otherwise, I apologize. I confess I was being a bit defensive of my own present position, which could change back to my old one at any time. In my life I've learned to always keep an open mind about things, and always go with the preponderance of the evidence. I really don't like to "argue" with people, but I hoped to present my opinion (and it's JUST an opinion) on what I discovered in my swim through the vast sea of Brian Lore. Let's leave it at that.

I envy you for having been so close to him. I never got more than 8 feet from him, but I was there for 20 minutes that time! I hung out with rock stars in Hollywood when I was young, and sang in coffee houses there during the 60s (Love, The Byrds, Paul Revere and the Raiders, Sonny and Cher, the Mommas and Pappas, etc. were all there) so I'm also aware they're just folks like the rest of us. It saddens me that Brian "cried a lot". It looks like the "psychopathic rock star", as I read one fellow call him, was a man in a lot of pain. Now he knows no pain, no matter how he got there.
