It was kinda funny opening your post and finding all of those guitars. I'd just looked up some info on Gibson 355 guitars. One of my favourite musicians, Bernard Butler, favours this guitar, so I had to find out about it. It sounds like one amazing instument and it is a 'Lucille' guitar, so it must be something special. Then you hit me with your beautiful guitars, though I don't find Briny to be so good looking - it just don't look right. I love old man especially, and Olivia looks hot. Of course I think of George when I hear of an Olivia.

Getting back to Bernard. Bernard does a lot of production these days (very impressive ouvre). Amongst his collaborations is Bert Jansch, so I had a look at that. I could hardly believe my luck to find that Bert had also worked with Johnny Marr. So today I got Bert's CD with Johnny and Bernard on it. I'll be honest, it is impossible to understand how anyone can be so gifted as to play a guitar as well as Bert Jansch. I guess it's a lifetimes dedication, but it still don't seem fair to me.

I was also thinking about Keith having died with Brian. I get the impression he never ever wanted anyone else in the band but Brian, and he is still smarting and disbelieving even about Bill leaving. I think Mick Taylor was born out of necessity. The fact that he wasn't a 'face' at that time and never ever became one suited the post Brian period. And by the time Ron came along on the scene the Stones were a parody of themselves, so he fit really well. Today, in my opinion, they have morphed into, Spitting Image puppets. By the way, when I saw Mick Taylor last year, he looked so much like Brian.

The Glasto trip was a little bizarre. I got to the top of the Tor joining a few other folk. This one guy was wandering around up there talking to himself. He'd just passed me muttering this and that, when I heard this almighty thud. Mr.Chatterer had slipped on the mud and landing heavily and motionlessly just behind me. I rather timidly asked him if he was OK. To this he immediately replied, 'No', to which I immediately thought, oh shit. Thankfully, though slightly taken aback, I felt reassured by his next remark, which was, 'I am turning into a telephone box' at which point he jumped up, gathered his bits and pieces and ran down the hill at break-neck speed. Most entertaining.

Nice drawing.
