My favorite bands will I'm sure this will date me, but I work with a 30 year old who agrees with me. The Beatles,The Rolling Stones,The Doors, and The led Zeppelin, But have recently grown very fond of the Almond Bros Band, I love the way Duane Almon played guitar, very fast, but with a great deal of feeling as well. All the bands that started out with "The" before the name. I have my theories on why Rock and Roll has degenerated since the 80's But I think it mainly can be traced to two reasons.(1 the record companies have ruined Rock, and Country. They have taken out all forms of creativity, from the music, they produce only cookie cutter music because they are corporations with share holders and they want quick profits,I don't think that a record like Sargent Pepper, would have been made now because it ventures out too far into the eithers. Another reason most music now falls short is they have flushed out the "Human Element" out of the sound with all the high tech electronic wizzardry, they have made all the guitars, and drum beats sound alike. "Satisfaction" was I think the no.1 song of the century, thats because it had a rough mix with a primitive fuzz box but it still stands up today. Get the computer Geeks out of the studio, and bring back the 8 track control panel, that is what most of the best tunes were recorded with.
