"Ah. Thanks." She flashed him a smile and thought about how to make a graceful exit, finally deciding on just a casual nod. "Good to see you back. We'll have to catch up sometime, yeah?" She smiled again at that and then turned her attention back to the others in the room. "Alright pro's, I'll catch you later, I am going to my freaking out." She grinned good naturedly tucking her bag back under her arm before turning to head out of the lounge and down towards the next door which led to the kitchen. Her heart was beating a little erratically but she blamed that on being taken by surprise. She had spent the past year getting over him, getting over the heartbreak and the feelings inadequacy. She wasn't angry with him, it had been a mutual understanding and actually it had been a very adult and mature break up. She knew that he was meant for bigger and better things than a small town college while she was pretty content here, living the smallish town life and going to Hawaii to visit her family was enough for her. Still, she had fallen hard for him, given him two years of her life and that took a bit to get over. Her family had expected them to get married and had been shocked when she came for the summer without him. It had just been awkward and hard but she had worked her way through it with the help of her friends and families. Honestly, she hadn't been sure if he was coming back to RDU or not but she hadn't really prepared herself for seeing him again. Especially not seeing him again all tan, toned and with his hair a bit longer and shaggier than usual. Realising she was almost jogging to the kitchen, she slowed her steps to a more reasonable pace and brushed her hand through her hair, intent on just getting her binder and getting home to prepare for school. He may be back but that didn't change the fact that she was starting her first semester as a professor and she needed to be ready for it.
