"You? Get sidetracked?" She questioned teasingly, a mockingly incredulous look on her face before she shook her head. "I don't think nervous is the word I would use...maybe, um....nauseated, that might work a bit more." Her expression was a bit self depricating and she let out a soft laugh before she continued on. "I think it will all work out ok. I just wanted to make sure that all the stuff is set up properly in the rooms and stuff. I don't want to be that nerdy, unprepared proff who is calling the AV people during class because I can't get the projector started." Rolling her eyes a touch, she smirked, bringing the heel of her hand, still covered with the sweatshirt sleeve, to rest on her chin. "I just want to be prepared. Not even a tiny way for anything to go awry." Her eyes moved to the book that he was reading, her brow cocked. "Brushing up on freshmen reading?" Suddenly, she realized that maybe she was interrupting something but, really, she could tell when he was busy. He was never out and out rude to her but he didn't give her a bit of a brush off when he was really concentrating. "All the guys are out at the bar, watching the game and having a few drinks. They made fun of me for coming here." Her eyes rolled a touch at the way the guys were, Tommy was such a doofus it was a wonder he kept his job for as long as he had. He was a good teacher though and the kids related to him well, that was probably the reason he was kept on so long. He definitely wasn't about to get nominated for tenure or anything though. "It's nice that you have a few weeks to really get ready....is your TA nice?" She questioned, though her voice was a little distant at the last part. It wasn't that she had any right to be jealous but she had seen his TA and knew that she was a cute, friendly girl and...well...she had been his TA and she couldn't help but wonder if grading would be as intimate an occasion between him and the new girl as it had been for them.
