"Prepared or unprepared, I doubt anyone will ever look at you as the 'nerdy prof'..." He pointed out with a low laugh and then a slightly sheepish smile - he hadn't pretty thought about the insinuations of the comment before he spoke, but he was pretty sure, hopeful at least, that she wouldn't really care. "I don't know about freshman reading... But something like that." A small smirk touched his lips as he glanced down at the novel on his table and tried to picture the expressions on the faces of the first years if he tried to get them to read that book. Not so likely. He wasn't surprised to hear the guys were out and about and not stressing about school starting - some days he would have been there too, but not this time. At her question about his TA, he nodded a bit, a slight smile lighting on his features. "Yeah, she's pretty cool. Hey - you want a drink or something?" It was a poorly kept secret that he stashed a bottle of Johnnie Walker in his desk drawer along with a couple tumblers - he was hardly an alcoholic, but really, there were some nights and a few afternoons that one could really use a drink. Then there were evenings like this - he was actually a little surprised with himself for not already breaking out a beverage, but the reading had really snuck up on him, it wasn't exactly what he had planned..
