He kept the smoke for a couple deep drags, a small smile lingering over his features at her random comment about his hoodie, and one hand raised to touch her cheek sweetly, his thumb brushing her lower lip slowly. He was quickly coming to the conclusion that he would never be able to just be her friend without wanting her and wanting more from her. Even if he knew it was 'wrong', he couldn't even just stand out here with her and share a smoke, and not touch her or think about touching her and kissing her and holding her again. The quiet, crisp night and the private, intimate setting hardly help keep things casual though - they had a lot of memories of being together at that school, though they had a lot of memories about being together everywhere, but either way it was impossible for him not to think about everything. Especially when she made comments about liking the way his hoodie smelled like him. Exhaling slowly to the side, he shifted sideways a step - not really further away from her, but just so that he could lean lazily against the railing that surrounded the patio area - and then looked to her once more, his own gaze darker and thoughtful, but also quite relaxed. It was a nice evening and he could think of many worse ways to spend it. "I'm glad you came out here tonight..."
