Many of the comments about the St. Peters game are right on the money. We could say simply the Griffs lost the game at the free throw line. For Canisius the Griffs played hard, the Blue and Gold Band was great, the Dance Griffs were terrific, the Cheer Griffs were enthusiastic. The best cheering section in the house, was the St. Peters' bench. Say, what? The Canisius student section was practically vacant. Where were the students? Oh, studying for mid-term exams? Hopefully they were. Those start next week. The Griffs, the band, the dancers and the cheer leaders are students too, but they showed up. Inter-collegiate athletics are said to be part of the college/university experience, especially on the D1 level and for the student body as well as the participants. The Powers That Be at the University need to take a look at that and get the word out. So let's GO Griffs!

There were 100 students at Sunday's game, at a school with 2000 students. The percentage of students attending games has remained remarkably consistent.
The problem is getting them to all sit in the student section, to cheer and heckle, and to read the room in their engagement.

I was at the game. You could easily count the number of fans in the student sections I came up with a total of 12!!! Honest.

Too many local kids that run home for the weekend vs. having a truly college experience. We need more kids from out of the area. Don’t waste your time on kids who have never even walked to the KAC. Go Griffs!

BG is a veteran from the "Saturday Night at the AUD" days. Nearly everyone was a local kid then. It seemed nearly all of us loved that college experience, including our dates from D'Youville and Daemen f/k/a Rosary Hill.
