Re: 23-24 SEASON -- BfloGriff, Tue, January 23 2024, 15:49:15
Hold on. Bill Maher works with a budget from THE POWERS THAT BE. If he fires Reggie, whose contract has to be paid off, what is left to attract a new qualified coach? This is Canisius U., not DePaul in $$. Isn't Reggie's contract up at the end of this season? Then a fresh start with a President who knows more than a bit about D1 athletics and their importance in attracting students and growing the student population.

Not following you. How would firing Reggie and appointing one of the assistants as an interim for the rest of the year cost a penny?

The difference is DePaul fired coach Stubblefield in the middle of a 5 year contract. Reggie is in the last season of his 3 year extension. It's not so much a $$ issue as a public relations matter at CU. But DePaul has a lot more money to spend in firing the coach and buying out what is a much larger $$ contract.

Re: 23-24 SEASON -- The school would never do this to Reggie., Wed, January 24 2024, 11:21:15
They don't need the local media backlash. Let him finish the season.
