Why would we want a guy who failed at Sienna? I heard too much baggage with Patrick. He only has himself to blame for that. I heard people at Canisius are hoping for Curran.

If Bielien is named coach the university is asking for trouble. The reason he was fired at NU is not minor. I predict special interest groups on campus will not stay silent. It's not worth it.

If this info is credible not surprised with first three, can't believe they would go with a just fired Maac coach but I imagine he would bring some players with him. Curren is the most logical choice I believe based on his personality and experience, I am not surprised to see Patrick Beilein on list, I am ok with bringing him in but I would go Curren first , just wonder what John Beilein may be putting on the table to resurrect Patrick's career, his involvement in some way, maybe funding some NIL collective, etc, lots of possibilities if he sees this as Patricks best chance to get back in the game! Don't know anything about the ex Manhattan guy other than he was apparently well liked, not sure what network he would have outside NYC area.

Carmen Maccierello was a disaster at Siena and should not be considered. Siena fans ran him off despite 2 yrs left on his $400,000 per yr contract.
Not sure why Jordan Fee is not on the list. Incredible success this year at Gannon. Just the young talent we need.
Curran is beloved at Bona and a well regarded recruiter but, as Marbach and Parrotta, has no actual head coaching experience.
Stores did well in his one year as temporary coach at Manhattan but not good enough to win the job.
Patrick, on he other hand, is a proven talent as a head coach and deserving of a second chance.. he would be a great hire at this point after paying dearly for his sins. Let’s show some Christian forgiveness. There would be no backlash and he would work his butt off to succeed. And his father’s support has enormous value.

Canisius isn't at a Top 3/finalist stage. Many people have been contacted. A surprising number of impressive "retreads" have reached out.
A very, very good source told me "there's a lot of alignment between what fans want and where we're looking."
While the search is progressing nicely, there's still more to be done.

Patrick Beilein wouldn’t pass a serious background check. Go ahead and cross him off. This is too important of a hire… Too risky to pay over a quarter of a million annually at a school like Canisius to someone with his track record of behavior.
