Subject: Coaching Thoughts

The program has been stagnant and needs some youth. I think Steve Currans ties to the area is not what we need. It didn’t work out for us in the past.. as we saw with Reggie. Beilein I understand the excitement, but he doesn’t have a clean track record and that can cause problems. Stores checks all the boxes and has connections to plenty of players in the portal and I wouldn’t be surprised if several of them become Griffs.

Look at the end of the day we need to get someone to get us back on track. Steve was recruiting success behind Mark Schmidt. Patrick knows the game & his father would be another asset to the program. They also know WNY. Stores is a talented guy. Let’s see where we end up. There is lots of positive energy around the topic of a new coach. Selfishly, would love to have this behind us very soon.

I agree with Stores being the next coach . If Curran didn't coach locally would he have any appeal ? There might be a reason why he's been an assistant as long as he has . With regard to Beilein is the appeal his last name ? No need to make a hasty decision and end up with a mediocre coach . There's no shortage of young assistants from successful programs that would be exactly what we need .

If I was making the call Patrick Beilein would be the Canisius Golden Griffins head coach. I don’t care about Patrick Beilein’s love life it’s not any of my business what Patrick Beilein does or doesn’t do unless he is arrested than it’s people’s business. The Canisius Golden Griffins basketball job is a heavy lift and the Griffs need to take the risk. Canisius alums want no risk and be the moral authority offer a $1 million plus dollars salary a year or sit down with the moral authority. I don’t care about this guy is a good clean guy you want Greg Paulus of Niagara who sucks as a head coach or worse George Halcovage III at UB? Griffs fans are right daddy isn’t going to want to see Patrick Beilein fail as a head coach. It’s like having two head coaching minds instead of one. But unfortunately Canisius University will screw it up Rick Pitino could walk into Canisius University office tomorrow say I am willing to coach the Griffs for free and there will be fools that will pass because Canisius University is incompetent. Few care what Rick Pitino was doing in a Applebees restaurant or whatever where it happened in Louisville with a waitress that is Rick Pitino’s personal business and love life not mine. We have too many busy body nosey people today that have something to say about everything. While good sports teams win is he or she a good coach or not. I am tired of the Griffs losing 20 basketball games a year and tired of many of the Canisius alums that want more mediocrity because they check the wonderful person with a clean record boxes that equals another loser. Get on with it hire Patrick Beilein in my opinion. Go Griffs! Let’s Go Buffalo
