Ed... The source of the photograph is very reliable. I also think that the fish looks like a big Curvina (too big!) but it is a Totoaba (also spelled Totuava). The Totoaba is sometimes found as far down as Mazatlan, but most of the remaining fish are un the uppermost part of the Gulf of Cortez.
