Subject: Choices

“Choices. They are life’s constant. The choice to be brave & push forward. To turn back in retreat. The choice to stand still & watch the world pass you by. Sometimes we tell ourselves that there is no choice, when in fact the exact opposite is true. There is always a choice.”

I found this the other day and it's made me think of all the times I thought I didn't have a choice or remained neutral as to not be put in the middle of something. I don't think I ever recognized the latter as a choice, but more of a lack of choosing. I suppose it's all in the perspective.

Have you been watching Being Erica? lol

That is a great quote, though. And it is thought provoking.

Ah, I really like that quote, Kell! I don't always realize that being neutral or "not making a choice" is indeed a choice.

It reminds me of the line in the Rush song "Freewill":
"If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."

Hi everyone.

No, Neeney, I've not heard of Being Erica. I'm assuming it's a tv show. I'll have to look for it. I found the quote online while looking at pages of quotes.

Hey BC. What brought up the "process of ponderation"... I have a person in my life who I've decided to set free from our "friendship". It was turning into something that was great when it was convenient for them and I decided that I wanted more than that out of our friendship.

It got me thinking of what I wanted, what I offer as a friend and about all the times I've declared myself neutral because I didn't want to have to choose a side. I never really considered that a choice but I can see where not choosing a side is still a choice.

Yah it is a tv show. In fact, they quote that so often on the commercial for the show, that it's how I recoginized it. lol But it is a great quote and I'd never thought about it before.
