Subject: Lurker decloaks

Hi guys, I have been a lurker and random poster for some time but as I have recently had my first baby and am currently on maternity leave I may well be posting on here a bit more frequently. It's been a few months since I had checked in but with time on my hands between feedings I have managed to catch up with all of you and am hoping you guys will help the next few weeks fly by a little faster. I am not cut out to be a stay at home mom--I applaud those who can do it but I am used to a much more fast paced environment and I miss the contact with my customers (or just other humans period really). I will miss my little Liam fiercely, but I will be happy to get back to some sort of life outside of my four walls.
I am sure things will get better when it is warmer(I am in Ohio) and we are able to get outside for some fresh air, but for now I have a bad case of cabin fever and it is making me restless.

Anyway here is a photo of my little man, Liam Ivor. He is my little Irish/Welsh sweetheart and will be 4 weeks tomorrow.

What a cutie! Such a handsome little man.
Being a stay-at-home mom is a huge commitment and it often isn't a decision that's easily made. If you can do it (and keep your wits about you), that's wonderful, but if not, the Universe isn't going to hold it against you and your child will always be loved and cared for no matter what. What do you do for work, Gigi? Do you have someone in mind to care for your son while you're away?
I stay home a majority of the day with my 11-month-old son until the husby gets home, then I go to work with eight two-year-olds. I love working with kids.
There are always lots of great conversations going on here so feel free to jump in whenever!

I work for a bank so I have some very regular customers and it is usually pretty busy--this is a big change for me, work is soooo much easier!!!
I have a daycare picked out but it breaks my heart to think of taking him when he will only be 10 weeks old. Daycare is so expensive too, it will cost more than my mortgage but you have to do what you have to do. I wish I could do part time but the bills need paid...oh well, I am not one to dwell on the negative, think how happy I will be to see my little one after a long day at work. I will always have something to look forward to!

when I was expectig my first child ...
- I was working as an engineering assistant for an insurance company, and I initially had plans of returning to work after my maternity leave because I thought there would be no way that it would be "financially feasible" for our family to "survive" on one income.

but, after I held that little guy in my arms
- my heart could not bear the thought of leaving him with someone else
- I became a "stay at home - work at home" Mom, and never regretted for a moment that decision to do so!
raising my three kids ...
- having the privilege of staying home with them ...
- being there as they took their first step
- spoke their first word
- I will treasure those moments and memories forever!
