Subject: B Robo Kabutack Superchange, Does this mean anything to anyone?

So, I was at this little discount shop, fellow Australians may have heard of it, it's called The Warehouse, and I found these really odd little transforming toys called Super Hero Super Change on the package.

I bought a bunch of them including:

 Two different versions of Kabutack – a cute red robot guy with big eyes and an oversized helmet. He turns into a Power Ranger-ish robot. The two versions I bought have different snap-on armor, blue submarine armor and yellow drill tank armor.

 Tiptop Frog - A green and silver frog that transforms into a diver looking robot with tadpoles that you can store in his belly.

 Bad Roach - A chibi blue cobra guy that turns into a bigger robot with full length arms and legs.

 Scorpion – A chibi purple scorpion guy who becomes a bigger robot with hands hidden in his claws.

 Spider Detective – A dopey looking yellow and black spider guy who converts into a very cool looking robot with a grappling hook and rope.

 Lina & Flying Robot – A pink & white femme-bot that doesn't transform and comes packed with a little red robot that turns into a jet pack to be worn by Kabutack.

 And Round Wheel – a brown wheel that unfolds to become a little round robot and unfolds further to become a bigger brown & orange robot.

The names are taken from the back of the package.

Having scratched around online I've discovered that they're from a series originally called B Robo Kabutack Superchange by Bandai and I've found out that Kabutack was some kind of live action Japanese kids show from 1997.

Apparently all the characters are actors in robot suits based on different creepy crawlies and they compete in some kind of competition for prizes.

This is all very intriguing. I'd really like to know what the deal is with the characters and the series itself. And I'd like to know just what kinds of competitions these guys all take part in.

I've scanned one of the catalogues that came with Kabutack, but I have no webspace to put them up, so if anyone out there can read Japanese or wants to host the 4 scans I made drop me a line.
