I have to admit I always (heh, always being in the last few years) saw Unicron's quest to destroy all creation as an act of fear.

Permit me to explain, if you will...

The way I see it, Unicron simply wants to die, but he's afraid of the actual process of dying. Since he is self aware, it is impossible for him to slip into the void of death without being aware of his own passing, so the only thing to do is to make everything else go away so that the transition from one void to the next will be a negligable one.

We've seen in TF:TM thay Unicron draws energy from consuming planets, so in my telling of the story once Unicron has devoured the universe he need only use up the last of his energy before going into stasis lock end eventually his mighty spark will cease to function.

I'm sure this whole story can be contridicted by one of the extensive Unicron stories from the UK comics, but I feel that Unicron needs to be a character, not just a plot device or the ultimate evil that eats planets because it's a mean thing to do.
